Dr Arun Mavaji spoke at CAHO SAKCON on designing AI that starts with the hospital problem rather than the technology.
HYDERABAD, INDIA. Medblaze co-founder Dr Arun Mavaji delivered an invited talk, “Designing AI Solutions to Solve Real Hospital Problems”, at SAKCON, the conference of the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO), hosted at Apollo AIHA, Hyderabad.

Beyond the hype
The talk centred on a question that healthcare leaders are asking with increasing urgency: how do we move beyond AI hype and design solutions that genuinely address problems on the ground?
From improving patient safety and quality to enabling better operations and experiences, the argument was that AI in healthcare needs to be purposeful, practical and outcome-driven.
“AI in healthcare will create the most value when we start with the problem, not the technology.”
Technology adoption at scale
The session also offered a look at the technology adoption journey at Apollo Hospitals, presented by Mr Harkaran Singh Sahni, whose perspectives gave a valuable glimpse into how technology is shaping healthcare delivery at scale.
Thank you
Our thanks to CAHO SAKCON, Dr Amitha Marla and Dr Aileen J for the opportunity, and to Dr Vijaya Rudraraju, Principal of AIHA, along with faculty members Dr Purnima Narayan and Dr Deepthi Alle, for the warm invitation and hospitality.
Most valuable of all was the interaction with the students, faculty and healthcare professionals in the room, an audience that brought thoughtful questions and perspectives to the discussion.
